First, one must understand the power of Pluto and Mars. The analogy I use for my students to help explain the power of Pluto is a caterpillar creating a cocoon and emerging as a butterfly.   Total transformation using death and rebirth.    However, the energy of Pluto is not necessarily a beautiful butterfly, it is aligned with power, death and rebirth, obsessions, sex, intensity, rage, jealousy, and murder. The power is tremendously deep and hidden in the depths.  It is not meant to be seen.   This is the real enigma of the power of Pluto.   It stays underground and when the time comes for the power to the surface, it does in all its glory.    Pluto is all or nothing at all.  When the energy does surface, it is total, complete and a total annihilation follows.   This is where the death and rebirth enfold.   The positivity of Pluto is it always rebuilds what it destroys but in the style and fashion of what the, Therefore, it rules the underworld, underground, control, power, sexual energy, and abuse. Pluto is extremity and intensity.  Pluto is said to be Mars X 10 and is the higher octave of Mars.  So, with Mars and Pluto conjoined in aspect our capacity to commit violence and destruction is even greater than usual.

MARS is our anger, our physical strength, and our capacity of violence and aggression.  Mars is common in competitive sports, pushing oneself to the limit, rage, anger, need to win, physical passions and a strong drive.  Mars is challenging against nature achieving feats no one thought was possible.  The combination of Pluto-Mars provides great courage, daring, and a natural desire to be powerful.   The individual with Mars-Pluto has to overcome inner darkness and needs to hold those powerful feelings of anger back. This difficult side of this combination has been linked to sex abuse, violence, rage, suicide, rape, war, dictatorship and the God-given right for power and control.

PLEASE do not assume that everyone with Pluto-Mars will experience a difficult fate.  Be advised that I have also witnessed sweet and lovely people that don’t appear to have a competitive bone in their entire body.  I don’t think any Astrologer, no matter how brilliant or how talented they are could give a real reason or justification that would cause a person with Pluto-mars to exhibit such a powerful drive for expression.

Pluto-Mars aspects so carry with it an inexhaustible amount of strength and intense emotions.  Pluto-Mars can be seen in charts of bullies, predators, serial killers, terrorists and the victims themselves.   Also, countries such as the US, France, and England have Pluto-Mars placements in their Mundane Charts.      Obviously, these are some of the countries that have fought many wars and utilized power and control to achieve their own greatness.   You will see this in event charts during a time of war, the generals, leaders, the dictators that follow.

The Mars-Pluto in one’s chart can show a series of physical, emotional or verbal abuse in their childhood.   The person represses the abuse and as an adult, the repression turns into anger and destruction.

I will give examples of charts to show how the Pluto-Mars energy was expressed within a person’s life.  The nature of this pairing can mean ruthless conflicts, brutality, obsessions, power, sexual abuse, rape, and murder.   I know, it sounds unfathomable to think that these two planets in various distances of Ptolemaic geometry will produce certain behaviors.    Astrology is a vast array of ideas, countless centuries of study, research, and understanding to formulate the interpretations of the Universe.   This mathematical model of the universe formulated by the astronomer, astrologer, map maker, theologian, and mathematician PTOLEMY (Ptolemaic system) is widely used and has taken on the standard of how we look at the cycles and movements of the planets.  Therefore, the conjunction, square, trine and opposition., just to name a few.   

SATURN-PLUTO An individual with Saturn conjunct, square, or opposite Pluto will often find that some sort of intense frustration is often felt.   A part of life is blocked.  It might stem from fear, powerlessness, or being unable to move.   Some aspect of their life feels as if it has come to a dead-end.   The Saturn-Pluto person will have what could be termed as an inner “death cycle” and forced to start over again.   This aspect is associated with lessons of survival.   The individual must endure and persist under extremely difficult circumstances.   The combination is said to have its fair amount of drama, coldness, and ruthless authority.  The conflict between these two planets is Saturn wants to keep everything the same, and Pluto has a need for total transformation

VENUS-PLUTO creates an intense love nature. How you need to love and be loved manifests, in either a positive or negative way, depends greatly on other aspects and fixed stars in your chart.

Either way, relationships are a serious matter in your life.

If others factor in your chart point to low self-esteem or negative moods, then Venus conjunct Pluto can lead to a lack of self-love and destructive relationships. You may become a victim of betrayal or abuse, going through much pain each time you are stung. And this can be a repeating cycle spiraling down into despair.

Jealousy, possessiveness, manipulation and even crime may result in disgrace and embarrassment. Negative manifestation can also result in self-abuse through drugs or other forms of self-harm. Poverty, sadomasochism or sexual abuse and rape would be extreme examples.

Even when in the depths of Pluto’s realm, you can always draw on a powerful ability to transcend pain and then transform your life. It may be that fate sees you visit the darkness for you regenerate like a butterfly from the cocoon.

With positive self-esteem and self-love come the positive manifestations of this conjunction. Self-confidence, popularity, wealth and healthy relationships are the results of a positive transformation, or the blessing of other helpful aspects and fixed stars. You will then enjoy the intensity of love and affection of partners and good friends.

MOON-PLUTO is called the most difficult aspect due to the intensity and potential destruction associated with it. But the experience depends on many factors especially on other aspects formed by Moon and Pluto that may ease or make it more difficult. Hence all planets ruled by moon whether it is emotions, security, safety, food, or mother get heated up and transformed throughout life. So, it may signify a person whose emotions can run deep and whose life path may take them through dark tunnels, and, yes, there is light at the end of it all, which is the gift of getting close to the soul. Born with an instinct to smell danger, these people discover through life’s journey that the only place safe is within.

Mother or caregiver tends to play a very strong role in the lives of Moon-Pluto people.  It often shows a very close bond between the mother and child, one that is unshakable and has undercurrents of strong loyalty and passion. The mother can be seen as overwhelming, overprotective or/and complicated, and in its worst, it could be the feeling of being trapped in a suffocating life or deat­­­h dynamics, but this is rare. Sometimes a grandmother or a foster/adopted mother takes over the role of the birth mother.  The thread that ties most Moon-Pluto people is the loss of a loved one either through death or separation and this also happens to be a turning point in their life.

ALBERT DESALVO (THE BOSTON STRANGLER)

Chart Sept 3, 1931, Chelsea, MA 11:56 a.m

Albert DeSalvo killed 13 women by rape and choking in the early 1960’s     He was violently killed in jail in 1973.  His chart clearly exhibits the struggles this man experienced with a cardinal grand square.   His Pluto is squaring Mars, together in a Grand Cross with Saturn and Uranus.   Interesting to note, his Moon is in Taurus in the seventh house.  Besides a brutal rape and murder spree, he killed his victims by choking.

JEFFREY DAHMER. 

Feb. 5, 1960, 4:34 pm Milwaukee, WI

Jeffrey Dahmer was an American serial killer who took the lives of 17 males between 1978 and 1991.   Over 13 years, he sought out men, lured them home and strangled them to death.  He would then engage in sex acts with the corpses, dismembering them, then disposing of them.   Often, he kept the skulls and became known as a Necrophilia, a murderer, and flesh-eater.   He would often keep the skulls and genitals of his victims as souvenirs.    He killed 17 men, dismembered them, would bag and freeze them.  He was captured in 1991, sentenced to 16 life terms, and was violently killed in prison.

This Birth Chart shows Mars, Saturn, and Venus (conjunct) in the 6^th house.   Here is an example of Pluto-Moon.  His Moon at 00 Gemini is squaring Pluto at 5 Virgo (square)

I would like to bring to your attention that the transits to his Natal Chart on Feb 6, 1978, 4:57 Milwaukee WI, wherein Transiting Pluto at 16 Libra is exactly squaring Natal Pluto Mars at 16 Capricorn.  This was when his first of many murders were committed.

Also, on November 28, 1994, is when Transiting Uranus was conjunct his Natal Mars, he was brutally killed in prison.  It has been claimed that the prison guards allowed the murder to happen while ignoring what was going on.   Classic Prison Justice.

JACK THE RIPPER

Jack the Ripper may be a name that everyone knows, but no one can be certain of his true identity. Whoever he (or she) really was, Jack the Ripper was definitely deranged. In 1888, Jack terrorized the Whitechapel neighborhood of London by slitting the throats and abdomens of at least five prostitutes and leaving them for dead. Sometimes, he would even remove the woman’s uterus and take it as a sort of prize. It’s unlikely Jack the Ripper’s true identity will ever be figured out, but “ripperology” — the study and analysis of the murders — has certainly inspired quite a few “what if” novels and films.

English-born Polish hairdresser, Jewish immigrant from Poland to London whom some believe to be the serial killer Jack the Ripper. In September 2014, author Russell Edwards claimed to have proven Kosminski’s guilt using mitochondrial DNA evidence, though this claim has not been published or verified by the peer-review process.

GARY RIDGWAY (THE GREEN RIVER KILLER)

His murdering spree began in 1982.  He chose runaways and prostitutes close to the airport in Seattle.    He would take them home to rape and strangle them, then many of them were placed in the Green River which was in close proximity to where he lived.

He was sentenced to 48 life sentences with no possibility of parole and one life sentence, to be served consecutively. He was also sentenced to an additional 10 years for tampering with evidence for each of the 48 victims, adding 480 years to his 48 life sentences.

TED BUNDY

November 24, 1946, Burlington, VT 10:35 p.m.

Theodore Robert Bundy was an American serial killer, kidnapper, rapist, burglar, and necrophilia who assaulted and murdered numerous young women and girls during the 1970’2   He eventually confessed to 30 homicides and the true victim count is unknown and could be much higher.

Here you have Pluto square Venus and Uranus are opposing Mars and the Moon.   His victims considered him handsome and charming.   He was intelligent and went to law school while discovering what his real career was.  He grew up to be a charming, articulate, and intelligent young man. However, by the time he was a teenager living in Washington, Bundy already exhibited signs of the sadistic serial killer he would become.

He was finally sentenced to death and died in the electric chair on January 24, 1989.

JOHN WAYNE GACY   

March 17, 1942   Chicago IL    0:20 a.m.

Here is another case of opposition.  His Mars is conjunct Uranus and Saturn which is squaring his Mercury.   His Neptune is opposing his Sun-Moon conjunction.   With this Sun oppose Neptune placement, he would often dress up as a clown to promote a flair for fantasy to attract young boys.

He sexually assaulted, tortured and murdered at least 33 teenage boys and young men, wherein he then buried them under his home.    He was executed for his murders by the electric chair. 

JOSEPH STALIN

December 19, 1878 12:20 a.m.

Georgia, Russia

Mars-Pluto Hard Aspects can exhibit a fear of being destroyed.  These individuals generate great courage, daring and ability to make powerful changes.  This individual also has to overcome the powerful feeling of anger back.

Joseph Stalin (1878-1953) did have a Pluto-Mars opposition in his chart and was the dictator of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) from 1929 to 1953. Under Stalin, the Soviet Union was transformed from a peasant society into an industrial and military superpower. However, he ruled by terror, and millions of his own citizens died during his brutal reign.  He created one of the worst famines ever known, and millions of his own people died under his reign.

Here we appropriately have Pluto square MARS, VENUS, SUN, JUPITER, MOON, SATURN, AND MERCURY.  

Mongolian world conqueror. A tribal chief at 13, he united the Mongolian tribes and established an empire in central Asia with a rigid military system, becoming one of the greatest rulers in history

GEORGE SMITH PATTON, JR

November 11, 1885 18:38 PM

San Marino, California

American military commander of forces in WW II who served under General Eisenhower as a commanding officer in Morocco. Patton was a tactician and practitioner of mobile tank warfare during WW II. Eventually, he made it to the rank of General.

A colorful and dramatic man, he had a movie made of his life.

He died of injuries suffered in a car accident on 12/21/1945, Heidelberg. He believed he had lived other lives, always as a warrior. Patton had been, he claimed, a Greek soldier, a Roman legionnaire, a Scottish Highlander, a trooper with Napoleon. Once, when visiting a Roman amphitheater, he felt so sure he had been there before that he swore, he could “smell the sweat of Caesar’s legions.”

Gen. Patton has a Pluto square Mars T-Square with Mercury.  Another aspect that would have brought strength to him was a Uranus square Saturn aspect.   He was known as one of the best and most respected General’s that the US ever had.

POL POT (THE KILLING FIELDS)

May 19, 1925

Kampong Thom Providence, Cambodia

The classic Pluto-Mars conjunction squares his moon.  What emotions wounds could he have been harboring?  Cambodian politician, a dictator responsible for the deaths of about two million Cambodians during his rule from 1976-79. He turned Cambodia’s lush countryside into a vast death camp before surrendering to defectors from his fast disintegrating Khmer Rouge movement on 6/18/1997. Rumored to be seriously ill, he has not been seen to the outside world since he and his followers fled the capital in 1979. A ragged handful of followers surrendered with him. His surrender may have been forced due to a lack of food and medical supplies. He is believed to have been married in 1986 to a woman known as Sar, who surrendered with him.

Remnants of his genocidal rule are found in the mounds of skulls still being unearthed all over Cambodia. The 1984 film “The Killing Fields” spread the story of the terror inflicted during his Maoist-inspired regime’s frenzied bit to create an agrarian utopia.

Venus-Pluto doesn’t mean abuse. But abuse is often related to Venus-Pluto, the combination of intense desire and the price that you have to pay for getting what you want.

JONBENET RAMSEY

June 1990, Atlanta, GA

This child has a prominent Pluto oppose Mars forming a T-Square with her Sun.  in her birth chart.  The stellium of Uranus, Neptune, and Saturn opposing venus makes me tend to believe that sexual abuse was part of the story.    Jon Benét Patricia Ramsey was an American child beauty queen who was killed in her family’s home in Boulder, Colorado. A lengthy handwritten ransom note was found in the house, and Jon Benét’s father John found her body in the basement of their house about eight hours after she was reported missing.

The case has not been resolved at this time.

HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON

OCTOBER 26, 1947, CHICAGO, IL

An American politician, diplomat, lawyer, writer, and public speaker.  She served as the First lady of the US 1993-2001, US Senator from New York 2001 to 2009, 67^th Sec. of State 2009 to 2013 and the Democratic Party’s nominee for president in 2016, wherein she lost to Donald Trump.

There has been much controversy with Hillary Clinton, her husband Bill, and the Clinton Foundation, From Whitewater, to the 30,000 missing emails, Benghazi, Monica Lewinsky, Vince Foster’s suicide, the scandals continue.

She has a chart that promotes a need for power at any cost.  Saturn, Pluto, and Mars are CONJUNCT and squaring her SUN in Scorpio the 12^{th.   The three Malefic Planets conjunct is very powerful indeed, plus making a square to her Sun.   With the placement of the Sun in the 12th  house, one may find it difficult to see the real Hillary.    She can keep all that power, personal drive, revenge, in the 12th house.    She has a Uranus square Moon which will give her an emotionally explosive side, which I have heard many times she had quite a temper.}

HARVEY WEINSTEIN

American film producer and former film studio executive. He is best known as co-founder of Miramax, which produced several popular independent films.   He won an Academy Award for producing Shakespeare in Love, and garnered seven Tony Awards for producing a variety of winning plays and musicals, including The Producers, Billy Elliot the Musical, and August: Osage County.

On 8 October 2017 The Weinstein Company fired him after a New York Times investigation uncovered allegations that he had engaged in rampant sexual harassment, dealing a stunning blow to a producer known for shaping American film and championing liberal causes.

On 25 May 2018, he turned himself in to be arrested by New York City detectives on charges that he raped one woman and forced another to perform oral sex on him. He later was released on a bail of 1 Mill. US$.
